Alice and I went to California on Christmas Day and arrived home January 4th. Our trip idea was conceived on New Years Day 2009.
New Years Eve 2008 I got roped into helping with the Popcorn Ball drop in downtown Marion, Ohio. It was very cold that evening and we froze our buns off standing in the middle of downtown Marion.
New Years Day, while watching the Rose Parade, Alice said "Lets go to the Rose Parade next year where it is warm. I said OK and the plan slowly hatched. We had most everything in place by August. Then to our surprise the Ohio State Buckeyes earned a trip to the Rose Bowl. We did not go to the game but did get to share some of the excitement.
