GUEST BOOK CGI SCRIPT USAGE

 To create a guest book in your home directory of your web pages space carefully follow these steps.

1. Edit the HTML code for the page you want to link to your guestbook. Put the following in your HTML code: <a href="bookform.html">Sign my guest book!</a>

2. Save the files bookform.html , book.html and book.cfg as files on your computer. With Netscape you can hold the shift key down while clicking the link to save the file..

3. Edit bookform.html. About 9 lines down replace the USERNAME_HERE with your username.

4. Edit the file book.cfg. Replace all occurances of USERNAME_HERE with your username. There are 4 occurances of USERNAME_HERE that need to be changed.

5. Upload all 3 files to the root directory of your web space.

6. Try it!
