Windows ME Internet Connection Wizard

Internet connection wizard can sometimes be started with an icon on the desktop called "connect to the internet" or can be accessed through the START menu. To access it from the start menu go to "START" then to "PROGRAMS" then to "ACCESSORIES" then to "COMMUNICATIONS" then to "INTERNET CONNECTION WIZZARD"

Once the wizard is up you may need to type in your area code then click NEXT.

Click on "I have an existing Internet Account..." or on "I want to set up my internet account manually" depending on which version you have, then click NEXT.

Click on "Select this option if you are accessing the internet using and internet service provider" then click NEXT.  (you may not need to do this step)

Click on "Connect using my phone line" then click NEXT.

Put in the phone number to dial from your user sheet then click NEXT.

Put in your username and password from your user sheet then click NEXT.

Type in Redbird as the connection name then click NEXT.

Click "yes" to "Do you want to set up an internet mail account now" then click NEXT.

Put in your real name and click NEXT.

Put in your email address (from your user sheet) then click NEXT.

Make sure the email server type is set to "POP3" then type in mail.redbird.net for both the incoming and the outgoing mail server names, then click NEXT.

Type in your username as the pop account name and your password then click NEXT then click FINISH.

Click START then SETTINGS then "Dial up Networking".  Right click on the Redbird icon and select properties.

Remove the checkmark for "Use area code and dialing properties"

Put the area code in with the phone number all in the same entry box.  If you have call waiting put *70, (that's star seven zero comma) before the area code.

Click OK to save the changes and close any open windows.
